Urology referrals

Who can refer

We accept referrals from:

  • GPs
  • Evelina London Children's Hospital consultants
  • other hospital consultants

How to refer

GP referrals

All NHS GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral Service using these details:

  • Specialty: Children's and adolescent services
  • Clinic type: Urology

Referrals sent to the nhs.net mailbox or by post from GPs will not be processed.

Referrals from other health professionals

Please send referrals to the email or postal address in the referral contacts box on this page.

Please provide the following information in your referral:

  • patient's name, date-of-birth, address, NHS number
  • contact number for patient's parents or carers (please include a mobile number if possible)
  • GP's name and address
  • referring clinician's name and contact details

Urgent or 2 week wait referrals

GPs should contact the children's assessment and referral service (CARS) for advice and support if the patient needs to be referred urgently.

Emergency referrals

If your patient requires immediate assessment but does not need to go to the emergency department, please contact the on-call urology registrar or consultant. They are available at all times and can be contacted using bleep 1103.

To access the bleep system, call 020 7188 7188 and choose the option for the bleep desk. Once connected, dial bleep number 1103 and wait for a response.
