Referrals for children under 5
Please see when to be concerned about a child's speech and language development before making a referral.
Parents or carers can make a referral if their child is registered with a GP in Lambeth or Southwark.
Referrals for school-aged children
We work in some school settings across Lambeth and Southwark that have purchased our speech and language therapy service, including:
- mainstream schools
- special schools and units
- further education colleges
We provide:
- specialist assessment and therapy for children with language and interaction needs that affect their ability to learn and build relationships with other children and teachers. Your child will need a referral, completed by the school, in order to access specialist support
- training, advice, support and resources for school staff to support speech, language and communication development
Find out more about how our school service works on our team page.
If you're concerned about your child’s speech and language, talk to the special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) at their school. Your child's SENCo can make a referral if they think your child requires speech and language therapy support in school and the school uses our service from our team.
We can accept non-SENCo referrals if it is for speech sounds, voice or stammering. Your child will need to be registered with a GP in Lambeth or Southwark to access this service.
The relevant referral form must be accompanied by a speech and language therapy checklist for the school year that the child is in (you can download these below).
The checklist should be filled in by the child's teacher.
