Evelina London is introducing a new child’s health app for parents – eRedbook.

Redbooks are given by the NHS to every newborn baby for parents and health professionals to record their development from birth to age five. This Redbook is now available as a free app for Lambeth and Southwark parents making it quick and easy to access their child’s health information – and means you don’t need to worry about forgetting or losing this information.

The app is secure and has been rolled out in other areas of London, making it tried and tested by thousands of other parents. It gives parents secure access to their child’s health information, including immunisations records, on the go – through your phone or tablet and on a laptop or PC.

The eRedbook provides convenient, online access to:

  • Timelines and reminders about screenings, health reviews and immunisations – these will be automatically updated by the mother’s GP or our health visitors
  • Growth measurements and charts
  • Information and advice on a child’s developmental ‘firsts’ such as feeding, moving, words
  • Tailored advice and information by age and location.

Parents can add photos and their own notes and questions for their next health visit and add photos to developmental firsts. Parents can share access to the app with members of their family and, if they choose, health professionals.

Our midwives, health visitors and other health professionals will be talking to pregnant women, new mums and their partners to encourage them to register for the eRedbook app. Paper versions will still be available for parents.
