Filming and photography

Given the unique location of our hospitals, we receive a large number of requests for filming and photography.

We cannot agree to all requests and reserve the right to decline if they conflict with operational requirements or are made at short notice.

We have a duty to protect the confidentiality of our patients, so photography and filming is not allowed in some areas, such as accident and emergency.

Anyone found filming or photographing without the permission of our communications team will be asked to leave immediately and footage and photographs may be confiscated.

Filming requests

We charge for filming or photography requests on our sites for commercial gain. However, we are currently unable to facilitate any commercial filming. We will update this page when the situation changes. Please email press@gstt.nhs.uk for more information.

During filming and photography

Film crews and photographers must have a a member of staff with them at all times. There may be additional costs if security staff need to be present.

No patients or staff should be filmed without obtaining proper consent. Our procedures, such as those to control infections, must be respected and followed.
