The Evelina London website, launched earlier this year, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Association of Healthcare Communications and Marketing (AHCM) Awards – fighting off a number of entries to make it to the top five in the ‘Best Website’ category.
Our website launched in February 2015 and aims to help make children, young people and their families feel comfortable and confident about their visit to hospital or care they receive in the community. When creating the website we involved patients, their parents and our staff – resulting in a website that is bright, colourful and full of positive images and videos of patients from all backgrounds.
Anita Knowles, Director of Communications at Guy’s and St Thomas’, says: "We are proud to have been shortlisted for this national award and also delighted that the new Evelina London website is proving extremely popular with patients and their families. We have seen an impressive 75% increase in visitors in just six months and received lots of positive feedback.
"The website is really helping us to put Evelina London on the map and to give our local and specialist children's services a much higher profile nationally. I love the way the site reflects the vibrancy of the communities we serve in south east London, and it is very inspiring to hear the children and young people talking about what it is like to be a patient."
The awards ceremony takes place in Birmingham on Thursday 12 November 2015.
