We're committed to providing the highest standard of plastic and reconstructive surgery to all children and young people.
Our plastic surgery service is one of the largest of its kind, seeing patients from south London and the south east England. We operate on over 1000 children and see over 4000 outpatients in our busy clinics each year.
Our new children's day surgery unit means we can treat even more children than before.
We provide a range of services for children including:
- general plastic surgery
- surgery for skin and soft tissue tumours
- surgery for neurofibromatosis
- scar management (including hypertrophic, keloid, post trauma and contracture scars)
- treatment for congenital breast and chest anomalies and gynaecomastia
- complex plastic surgery
- treatment for congenital and acquired hand and upper limb deformities
- treatment for congenital and acquired ear deformities
- treatment for congenital and acquired facial deformities
- vascular anomalies service including laser treatment
- transition into adult services for long-term care
The plastic surgery team works very closely with their adult plastic surgery colleagues at St Thomas' Hospital, and with other children's colleagues at Evelina London.
Patients coming for elective surgery are normally admitted to Beach Ward.
The team supports the major trauma centre at King's College Hospital.
