Our Lifelong Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Network

""

The Lifelong Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Network brings together NHS professionals working across London, Kent, Essex, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex and further afield. We make sure that congenital heart disease patients, families and carers receive the specialist support that they need closer to home.

Our vision is to make sure children, young people and adults of all backgrounds with CHD have equal access to the best possible care.

Our mission is to build on the expertise and experience of people in all our network centres, and work collaboratively with patients and clinicians in one cohesive clinical network.

Joint cardiac network clinics

Joint cardiac network clinics provide care locally. They are run by a local consultant with expertise in cardiology and an Evelina London consultant cardiologist.

The network clinic is supported by a cardiac nurse specialist and, in some cases, an Evelina London cardiac physiologist. Depending on the centre, you might also see a nurse with an interest in cardiology from your local centre.

Please visit our heart clinics page to see locations of the centres.

Our history

Formed in April 2023, Lifelong CHD Network is a merger between the CHD networks from Guy's and St Thomas' and Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.

The combined CHD network provides better access to care locally, an expanded geographical reach of over 40 hospitals and therefore more patient choice. It also provides more opportunities for research, education and sharing clinical expertise.
