Biography

George du Toit is a consultant in children's allergy at Evelina London and honorary senior lecturer at King's College London.

George trained as a children's doctor and then further specialised in children's allergy and asthma at the Red Cross Children's Hospital and University of Cape Town, Allergy Diagnostic Clinical Research Unit.

In 2000, George took up a post as consultant paediatric allergist at Imperial College London, St Mary's Hospital, moving to the children's allergy service at Evelina London in 2003.

George runs dedicated clinics in children's food allergy, drug allergy and chronic urticaria at Evelina London.

Further information

George is the co-investigator on two NIH-funded research studies aimed at the prevention of peanut allergy titled the LEAP and LEAP-On studies.

Additional research interests include exercise-induced anaphylaxis syndromes where George is visiting professor to the department of sport and exercise sciences, Northumbria University.

George is also an honorary senior lecturer in the Department of Child Health, University of Cape Town where research is focussing on the rise of food allergy in the developing world.
