About us
Our brain and spine inflammation service cares for children with serious swelling and inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.
This can be caused by a range of conditions including:
- autoimmune encephalitis
- acquired demyelination syndromes (damage to the nervous system)
- chronic inflammation of the brain.
We are one of a small number of children’s services to offer a dedicated demyelination clinic, where children with complex demyelination and multiple sclerosis receive support and treatment to manage their condition.
We see children from south London and from across south east England.
Our team of doctors, nurses, therapists and other health professionals all work together to care for your child.
