Your appointment at the Batten disease clinic

Our Batten disease clinic runs weekly on Thursday mornings.

Changing or cancelling your appointment

To cancel or change your appointment, please call Dr Ruth Williams' secretary on 020 7188 3998.

Before your appointment

It is helpful to bring with you to the appointment:

  • copies of any enzyme or genetic results
  • clinic letters
  • a list of current medications
  • any questions for the team.

During your appointment

The initial consultation will usually be with Dr Ruth Williams and may last one hour depending on the questions raised. Other team members may be present.

It is not always necessary to bring your child with you for the consultation.

If you want, you can bring other family members or local healthcare professionals with you for support.

After your appointment

For any medical issues that arise after your appointment, contact your local healthcare professional team.

Useful websites

The Batten Disease Family Association and NCL resource - a gateway for Batten disease are useful resources on Batten Disease and provide lots of information and advice.
