Croydon patients

If your child has been receiving audiology care from Croydon Health Services NHS Trust and needs continued specialist care, their care will now be provided by Evelina London.

This means they'll be treated by our teams and their appointments will be at one of our hospital or community clinics.

If your child's care is moving to us, Croydon Health Services NHS Trust will write to you about this change and let you know what you need to do to prepare.

If you do not receive a letter from them, this means your child's care is not moving.

Please phone the Patient Advice and Liaison Service team at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust on 020 8401 3210 if you have any questions about these changes.

Our service

We provide an accredited children's audiology service with advanced facilities.

We'll continue to see your child for as long as they need specialist audiology care, or until they're 18.

Our locations

For most appointments and checks you can choose to have your appointment at any of these 4 locations:

When possible, we'll see your child at your family's preferred location. However, we'll also consider your child's clinical need and the availability of appointments.

Some of our services are only offered at some locations. This means you may need to travel further for specialist treatment.

We see babies under 6 months old and children with complex needs at St Thomas' Hospital.

Support with your travel

You may need to travel further for your child's appointment.

Families that are eligible for the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme will have their costs met for travel to those locations. Check if you're eligible for the scheme on the NHS Business Services Authority website.

If you are not eligible for the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme and the travel costs will cause financial hardship, please contact Croydon Health Services NHS Trust by emailing AndreaCuff@nhs.net so that they can consider options to assist you.

Arranging your appointment with us

We aim to offer appointments by September 2024 to all children transferred to us from Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.

We'll phone you to arrange your child's first appointment on a date and time that works for you. We'll confirm your child's appointment details by letter and by text.

If you'd like to contact us to discuss your child's appointment please contact us:

Changing or cancelling your appointment

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel your child's appointment.

Please try to keep appointment times, as the rescheduled date can be up to 6 weeks later.

By phone

Please call us on 020 3049 8592.

By email

Please email gst-tr.CYPACEnquiries@nhs.net.

Please include full details of the appointment date and time and your child's:

  • name
  • hospital number (if you know it)

When we receive your email, we'll cancel the existing appointment on the hospital's booking system. Please tell us if you’d prefer to be contacted by phone or email and we'll get back to you to agree a new date and time.

By text

The text message reminders we send you will include an option to cancel or change the appointment time. If you choose either of these responses, our appointments team will contact you to discuss and rebook.

Using the MyChart app

If you have proxy access for your child's MyChart account, you can cancel and manage some appointments using the app or website.

Our MyChart patient app page has information about requesting proxy access.

Preparing for your appointment with us

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to the Evelina London paediatric audiology service.

You can read more information about our service and watch some films about our service to help you prepare for your appointment.

When you bring your child to see us for the first time we'll have access to some of your child's medical information, but may not have all of it. This means we may need to ask you for information you have given before.

Please bring information relevant to your child's care to your appointment. We recommend you bring:

  • your child's red book
  • letters from healthcare professionals involved in your child's care
