Developing Evelina London

Creating a bigger and even better children's hospital

Since we opened our children's hospital in 2005, the number of children and young people we care for from across London and the south east has increased significantly. We are committed to continuing to grow our hospital into a world-leading centre of life-changing care for even more children, young people and their families.

Expanding our facilities will mean even more children and young people can be treated and more cutting-edge treatments developed. More care will also be provided for the growing number of children with complex conditions, and it will allow us to bring more services together in one place. This will include bringing together onto one site our inpatient cardio-respiratory and intensive care services, that are currently located at Royal Brompton and Evelina London Children’s Hospitals following the merger between Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust in 2021. We will of course engage children, families, staff and other stakeholders as we develop plans around this.
