Respiratory service

For children affected by breathing difficulties

Our respiratory service cares for children affected by breathing difficulties such as asthma and lung infections.

We see children from south London and south east England.

Our team carries out a range of tests and investigations to diagnose respiratory (breathing) conditions. We work with our patients to manage acute (short term) and chronic (long-term) conditions.

We work across Evelina London Children's Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital. Your child may be cared for at either or both of these hospitals depending on their needs. We'll carefully plan your child's care and discuss this with you.

As many of our patients have long-term conditions, we work closely with the adult respiratory service, the Lane Fox Respiratory Unit, to ensure a smooth transition from children’s to adult services.

Since 2012, we have provided a children's home ventilation service and our specialist respiratory nurse supports families in the local community. We also work closely with our colleagues at King’s College Hospital.
