Overview
We offer counselling to parents or carers who are bereaved and parents or carers of children with:
- life-limiting or life-threatening conditions
- palliative care needs
We create a safe space to share your concerns and hear how you’re coping.
Counselling uses talking as therapy. We do not give advice or tell you what to do. Instead we:
- listen without judging you
- try to understand your thoughts and feelings
- encourage you to reflect on difficult emotions and memories
Our counselling service is free, and includes parents and carers whose children are seen as outpatients.
We're registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their codes of ethics.
You can also download our counselling and bereavement service for parents and carers leaflet (PDF 303KB) to find out more.
